Voices for Independence is currently seeking a full-time Direct Care Specialist to provide services within our service area.
As a Direct Care Specialist (DCS) with Voices for Independence, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing support to our consumers and direct care workers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Spread contagious positivity as a goodwill ambassador for our awesome organization!
- Guide and support consumers through the exciting on-boarding journey.
- Cheer on our fantastic direct care workers every step of the way during their caregiving adventures.
- Embark on community missions, with occasional office assignments.
- Maintain a varied weekly schedule to accommodate agency needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Possess proficient communication skills (both oral and written)
- Provide personal care to individuals with disabilities, including transfers.
- Work at least 5 days per week, with open availability for assigned nights and weekends
- Pass required background checks per state and federal hiring requirements pertaining to this work
- Superior desire to support and live the Independent Living Philosophy and the VFI mission and core values
- Possess a valid PA driver’s license
- Maintain reliable transportation for daily use
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Personal Care Attendant
- Experience with training others
- Knowledge of Home and Community-Based Services
- Knowledge/Experience with Centers for Independent Living
- Post-secondary education or coursework from an accredited university
- Ability to operate equipment such as Hoyer Lifts/Tram
- Proficiency with general office systems, including Microsoft Office
