Description
The Receptionist/Greeter is often the first point of contact for visitors, consumers, and callers to Voices for Independence. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming and professional environment by answering calls, greeting guests, and assisting with general clerical duties. The ideal candidate will be friendly, organized, and able to multitask in a busy office setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Answer and route incoming phone calls to appropriate staff.
Greet and assist visitors and consumers entering the agency.
Provide support to visitors as needed.
Serve as the main point of contact for vendors and the public.
Coordinate and schedule meeting room reservations.
Receive and distribute mail and packages.
Perform general clerical duties such as filing, typing, mailings, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to agency policies and procedures.
Present a professional demeanor consistent with VFI’s Mission, Core Values, and Independent Living Philosophy.
Schedule
· Part-time, 24 hours per week
· 3 days a week, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, professional attitude.
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
Highly motivated and able to complete tasks accurately and timely.
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field (experience may substitute for education).
Previous experience in homecare, human services, or nonprofit settings.
Front desk experience
Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Work Environment
This position is based in-office at VFI’s main location, with occasional travel within VFI’s service area.
Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations.
